Flow Reader is a free-to-use browser extension that reads web pages and selected text aloud. It requires no account, subscription, or paid API.

What the extension handles

When you ask Flow Reader to read a page, a selection, or text you hover over, the extension accesses the relevant text on that page. It also saves your chosen voice, speed, pitch, and language preferences on your device using Chrome’s local extension storage.

How information is used

Page text is used only to create speech for the current reading session. Flow Reader does not operate its own server, create user accounts, track browsing history, use analytics, sell information, or transmit data to the developer.

If you select an online Google voice in Chrome, Chrome or its speech provider may send the text needed to synthesize speech to that provider. This is controlled by Chrome and the selected voice. Local system voices can be used offline and keep speech processing on your device.

Chrome Web Store user-data commitment

Flow Reader handles website content only to provide its disclosed text-to-speech feature. It does not sell user data, use it for advertising, retain webpage text after a reading session, or use or transfer it for any purpose unrelated to reading text aloud. It does not use user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes. Where Chrome routes text to a selected online voice provider, that processing is solely to synthesize the speech requested by the user.

Sharing

Flow Reader does not share data with the developer or other third parties. The optional Buy Me a Coffee link opens the Buy Me a Coffee website only when you click it; payments are handled by that service, not by Flow Reader.
